49ers' Drew Greenlaw inadvertently embarrassed Eagles HC
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

You probably have not forgotten about San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw's iconic sideline interaction versus the Philadelphia Eagles back in Week 13 of the 2023 NFL season.

In it, Greenlaw got into it versus the Eagles' head of security Dom DiSandro, making contact with him as he pointed to his face. Allow me to refresh your memory:

After the viral moment, both Greenlaw and "Big Dom" were ejected from the matchup. But that doesn't mean Greenlaw "tied" the battle against Philly. In fact, you can pretty confidently say he won it in hindsight.

The 49ers made the Super Bowl and went toe-to-toe with the Kansas City Chiefs for five quarters of football while the Eagles were eliminated in the Wild Card Round in embarrassing fashion.

And in a league decision that should not have impacted football at all, the Eagles' Big Dom was suspended for the remainder of the regular season. Well, it turns out it actually went a long way in dismantling Philadelphia's year per a recent report.

Derrick Gun from JAKIB Sports reported that Dom's suspension led to more trouble for Philly because he "controls Siriannni's emotions on the sideline, in his absence Nick gets in numerous arguments with players/coaches during games."

Excuse me but... What?

This report almost feels made up. Sirianni is a 42-year-old man who has been coaching since 2004 but unless there's a scary looking dude on the sideline with him he can't behave himself? And this guy is sticking around for another year?

That's embarrassing and although 49ers fans might still be healing from a Super Bowl loss, it sure is fun to learn that Dre Greenlaw inadvertently left a bleeding wound on the Eagles without even knowing it all this time.

All he had to do was briefly fight Dom DiSandro and all the wheels came off.
